Leah and Doug
The next adventure to come after a wedding? The honeymoon, clearly. We're so excited thinking about the trip we're planning to Scotland next spring and have collected some of the things we'd love to do here (from historic tours to an afternoon out hawking to all the eating we plan on doing).United Kingdom Gleneagles, United Kingdom Edinburgh, United Kingdom Aberfeldy, United Kingdom Ireland
We'll from from the states to Edinburgh, where the adventure will begin!
Isn't everyone starving when you finally arrive after traveling? Forget the fancy meal - our first in Scotland will likely be something quick at a local pub near our hotel.
After any jetlag is gone, we'll work on finding somewhere special to have our first proper honeymoon meal in Scotland.
After spending time in the city, we'll make our way to the more luxurious part of our trip by Scotrail.
This historic hotel opened in 1924 and has remained one of the country's most gorgeous spots ever since. Golf fans will likely know the Gleneagles name — it'll host the 2014 Ryder Cup in September.
We'll try our hand at the "Sport of Kings" on the Gleneagles property. An introductory lesson will teach us the basics on handling and flying a Harris hawk and then we'll actually try hunting.
One of the hotel's restaurants, Deseo is a dream come true for the red meat-loving man. Doug can pick from different types of Scotch beef and cut his own steak.
After a long day hawking or driving around the countryside, nothing will feel better than relaxing in the hotel's bar, listening to some music, and enjoying a glass of red wine.
A kilted guide will drive us through mountains and moors in a Land Rover, making for the perfect opportunity to take in the natural beauty of Scotland (and try to spot a grouse, eagle, or deer). We...
An afternoon spent touring the Royal family's Scottish home will include touring the gardens, stables, and the famous ballroom. Plus, likely shopping for Prince George souvenirs.
We'll dress up in our honeymoon best for the hotel's award-winning restaurant and spend a lovely dinner going over everything we've seen so far (and, likely, talking about how much we miss the dog).
While Doug's golfing, Leah will spend time at the spa. Experiences to enjoy include massage, reflexology using local river-washed stones, time in a crystal steam room, and an Arctic mist shower.
