Elizabeth and Gordon
After all the fun of the wedding we are taking a short break to France to relax and enjoy some wine and cheese! If you wanted to buy us a drink (maybe some wine) or something to eat (some cheese perhaps?) while we make our way around the country that would be fantastic. We promise to send you a picture of us enjoying your treat!
Folkestone, United Kingdom
Maybe not the most glamorous of gifts but probably the most important, otherwise we will be having a week in Folkestone!
But it is certainly our most important. The first world war started almost 100 years ago and we are going to visit one of the battlefields to pay our respects to those who fought and those who fell...
When we say we are going to eat cheese and drink wine for the week! We will be keeping an eye out for a small restaurant for lunch on the first day.
Although I am not sure we will pass off as Lord & Lady Bradford?
You could always treat us to a bottle of chilled champagne on arrival!
I am sure there will be many more to come, but our first meal out (in the hotel!) will be at the highly regarded L'Orangerie restaurant.
I think we just ordered a bottle of wine?
We are keen to learn something about the wine from the region and where better to do that than at one of the vineyards. Now, which one shall we choose?
Today we are hoping to find a winery that will feed and water (wine) us!
We are hoping to explore little Venice, in Colmar, by boat
Tonight we are heading to this small family run restaurant in a 15th century house.
Okay, so not quite a castle tonight, but we are really looking forward to staying in a small boutique hotel in the medieval old town
Do you fancy hiring us a pair of bikes, so that we can get out and explore the vineyards (and maybe burn off some of that cheese on the way)?
Today we are planning to cycle to this highly rated local restaurant and enjoy a long lunch!
All this eating and drinking is hard work, time to relax at a spa-hotel!
You never know, we might just come home rich!
And this doesn't look like a bad stop! Two tickets to get in would be great.
Today we are going to stop in Mittelbergheim, which is considered to be one of the prettiest villages in France.
No trip to Alsace would be complete without a night in Strasbourg, where we are staying in the historic old town.
One of our favourite ever meals out was at Le Gavroche in London. We don't think this one is related, but it looks just as good!
We would love some more fine wine to go alongside our food!
What shall we go for today, some more cheese (and wine) perhaps?
Well you can't celebrate without champagne, and that's a fact. So we are off to the home of champagne (as far as Liz is concerned) for a guided cellar tour.
But we are going out with a bang! Another chateau stay, this time they have thrown in an a ruined old castle in the grounds as well.
Only if you think it is a good idea.
Perhaps it's time for us to get a massage at the on-site spa?
Oh, go on then, this place doesn't look too bad!
Perhaps a bottle from the cellar?
But it looks pretty good.
Then some spending money will always come in handy and we promise not to spend it all on wine and cheese!
What's a honeymoon registry?
Wanderable is a new and unique honeymoon registry that allows wedding guests to gift
meaningful and memorable experiences to a newlywed couple.
Similar to a traditional registry where the couple registers for gifts,
couples will create a Wanderable registry website where guests can choose a thoughtful
experience to give based on their unique relationship with the couple.
Couples who choose Wanderable want a beautiful experience to help begin their journey together.
A marriage is about the experience of life and the journey you are just beginning together.
Wanderable believes that this is at the core of marriage. And the only way to help a
couple celebrate this is to provide a meaningful wedding gift of one of the first experiences
of this journey together.
Wanderable helps couples get started on their journey by providing a unique way for
guests to give more than a thing, but a gift of a new life experience the couple can share.
We believe that experiences can be made into memorable gifts, that feel as real as receiving
any other gift you can unwrap.
