Saona Island Day Trip Excursion
This is one of the top rated excursions in Punta Cana! We’ll travel by catamaran from Bayahibe to Saona Island, and visit three beautiful locations. First stop, Catuano Beach, where there is an old pier, destroyed by a hurricane. The remaining concrete pillars are teaming with fish and a heaven for snorkelers. Next, we will enjoy a traditional Dominican lunch. Next stop is Mano Juan, the picturesque fishing village on Saona Island with 300 inhabitants; no cars and only solar electricity. We’ll tour the village and visit the sea turtle project, which works to increase the survival of sea turtle hatchlings from nests found on the beaches of Saona Island. If the timing is right, we’ll hold baby turtles from 2-3 days old! The last stop is the highlight of the excursion: "Canto de la Playa"! We will have the entire afternoon for relaxing on the beach, swimming and snorkeling in the coral gardens. This is the only cruise that stops at this beach, and since this is the most remote corner of Saona Island, we have the chance to see some remarkable sea life (sea horses, puffer fish, trumpet fish, turtles, cuttlefish, butterfly fish, flounder, tangs and stingrays to mention but a few)! In the late afternoon, the boat returns to Bayahibe.Return to the couple's registry.
