Brigette and Geoff
¡Hola! Bienvenidos. We really appreciate you visiting our honeymoon registry. With more than a couple of interstate and across-the-world moves under our belts, we've realised that belongings aren't as valuable as shared memories. And, despite our most fervent desires, we have only been tourists together twice in nine years, saving all of our vacation time to visit the other side. We cannot wait to visit Costa Rica together on our honeymoon and look forward to sharing our tales and pictures with you upon our return.Costa Rica Santa Ana, Costa Rica Costa Rica Siquirres, Costa Rica San Jose, Costa Rica
We jump on our favourite domestic airline (Frontier) to take us direct from Denver to San Jose.
We'll relax on placid water as we travel to and from the secluded Tortuga Lodge by boat.
Local guides will drive us across Costa Rica's rugged terrain and give Brigette a chance to brush up on her Spanish.
Lake Arenal is Costa Rica's largest landlocked body of water and produces 12% of the country's electricity through Arenal Dam. We'll cross it by boat en route to Monteverde.
The first night of our honeymoon will be spent at the Studio Hotel in the town of Santa Ana near San Jose. The boutique hotel exhibits art from local artists in each room and has a rooftop pool.
Our two nights on the Tortuguero River will include a balcony room with nearly as much window space as wall space, allowing the breeze and the sounds of the rainforest to flow freely. We are really...
We'll have two nights as forest dwellers at Monteverde Lodge and Gardens, where we'll see some of Costa Rica's most impressive wildlife.
Every honeymoon needs a little R'n'R. We'll lay out on the beach or at one of the many pools at this resort and spa. Maybe we'll even play some putt-putt or tennis if we become restless.
Rated amongst the top 10 rivers to raft in the world, we'll challenge ourselves during a full day on the Class III and IV whitewater rapids of the Pacuare River. This will be Geoff's first ever wh...
We'll take a morning boat tour through Tortuguero National Park with a local naturalist guide. We should see howler monkeys, river otters, and maybe even a caiman.
We'll kayak through the back water creeks and lagoons of Caño Chiquero, escaping other tourists while we paddle next to wildlife and listen to the chestnut mandibled toucan in the distance.
We're going to test our fears on four heart-pounding waterfall and canyon wall rappels, ranging in height from 130 feet (50 metres) to 45 feet (20 metres). Brigette is convinced this will be the pi...
At the conclusion of a demanding all-day guided hike through dense primary forest, we will summit Cerro Chato, a volcano that has been dormant for 3500 years,
At Ecotemales La Fortuna, our aching muscles will have some relief from challenging climbs and death-defying descents. We'll soak in hot springs with five free-flowing pools set in a natural river ...
Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and the surrounding town is a model for sustainable development and environmental protection. We are excited to visit a community where green-living is the norm and ...
The Monteverde Cloud Forest spans 25,000 acres and comprises six different life zones, including 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds and 1500 species of plants. We hope to see quetzals, sl...
We'll join a small group excursion to Manuel Antonio National Park, touring the mangrove forests and a few of the small islands just off the coast. Manuel Antonio's beaches are supposed to be exqui...
We plan to spoil ourselves with a deluxe tropical breakfast in Santa Ana.
We'll soak in the gorgeous views while enjoying a riverbank lunch along the Pacuare River.
We'll dine in the Tortuga Lodge restaurant, enjoying different local dishes each day.
After our adventures, we'll sample locally brewed beer. It's important to sample a wide variety.
We will delight in a romantic dinner in the charming town of La Fortuna.
