Amanda and Edie

As you may have heard, our lives will be changing dramatically not too long after the wedding. Edie will be finishing her residency on October 31st, 2013 and then we are planning to travel for 6 months from January 2014-June 2014. Edie will then start a one-year fellowship in July 2014 (wishful thinking she gets in somewhere - we won't know where until the New Year!). To allow her to attend a fellowship, there's a very high chance that we will have to leave San Francisco for one year. We hope to come back to SF after she's finished her training and continue to live in the city we love. We decided to take advantage of this break to travel to places we've always wanted to see. We don't consider this a honeymoon but a way to share meaningful experiences with each other that have been particularly formative for us. For Amanda, this includes London (where she studied abroad) and India (which she thinks is just an amazing place). For Edie, although she has never been to the Himalayas, she loves mountains and hiking so trekking in Nepal and Northern India sounds wonderful to her. All in all, at this point we are planning to be away from San Francisco for 1 1/2 years. With that in mind - and the fact that all our stuff is going into storage - traditional wedding gifts will not be able to be enjoyed for quite some time. A number of folks have reached out to us about a registry. After some thought, we came up with this registry with less traditional gift ideas. We'll be sure to take photos and let you know how the experience for the adventure you choose for us works out.

What's a honeymoon registry?

Wanderable is a new and unique honeymoon registry that allows wedding guests to gift meaningful and memorable experiences to a newlywed couple.

Similar to a traditional registry where the couple registers for gifts, couples will create a Wanderable registry website where guests can choose a thoughtful experience to give based on their unique relationship with the couple.

Why Wanderable?

Couples who choose Wanderable want a beautiful experience to help begin their journey together.

A marriage is about the experience of life and the journey you are just beginning together. Wanderable believes that this is at the core of marriage. And the only way to help a couple celebrate this is to provide a meaningful wedding gift of one of the first experiences of this journey together.

Wanderable helps couples get started on their journey by providing a unique way for guests to give more than a thing, but a gift of a new life experience the couple can share.

We believe that experiences can be made into memorable gifts, that feel as real as receiving any other gift you can unwrap.
